Nestling in a picturesque valley on the northern most plateau of the Drakensberg mountains, hidden in the lee of Mount Anderson, you will find the historic town of Sabie. It is a favorite tourist area renowned for its wonderland of waterfalls, a paradise for the nature lover. Jock Sabie Lodge is one of South Africa's most well known resorts, established in the early 1950's on part of the original Glynn's Gold Mining property, of which the town of Sabie evolved. It traded for decades as Jock of the Bushveld Bungalows and Caravan Park, situated in the heart of the town. Jock-Sabie Lodge boasts six glorious acres (20000m?) of attractive lawns and gardens featuring serviced B&B or self-catering accommodation in luxury timber log chalets, bungalows, lodge and a bunkhouse for students, backpackers and sports groups. Our fully licensed Pub & Restaurant offers a variety of drinks and delicious meals to suit your budget and culinary preferences. The resort enjoys a large and loyal clientele who are attracted to it's congenial park like setting and who appreciate being close to the centre of town and being able to lock up and stroll to all our local amenities. Sabie, a nature lovers and sightseers paradise is an ideal base from which to explore one of South Africa's top tourist destinations. Climate Sabie enjoys the exhilarating climate of the forestry region (the area incorporates the largest man-made forest in the world) with warm summer days, cool nights and mild but brisk winters. Surroundings Sabie is surrounded by numerous scenic and historical sites, of major interest to local and foreign tourists, including many magnificent waterfalls, streams and of course the prolific Sabie River itself which rises in the mountains above Sabie and meanders down the craggy Sabie Valley through the Kruger National Park and on to Mozambique. Sabie is also central to the Panorama Tourist Route, which links God's Window, the Pinnacle, Long Tom Pass (picture below), Sudwala Caves, Pilgrim's Rest, Graskop. Hazyview, the Blyde River Canyon, Burke's Luck Potholes and the Kruger National Park.
